Though completely renovated in 1998, the Deauville has retained its '60s Miami Beach character with portraits of Dino, Frank, Joey, and Sammy on display. The hotel welcomes an equal mix of leisure and business travelers. A dark wood lobby bar provides a lively gathering place. Floor-to-ceiling windows reveal the outdoor patio and pool areas.

Over 700 feet of white-sand beach along the Atlantic Ocean backs up to the resort. One of the most famous stretches of road in Miami is the Miracle Mile District in Coral Gables. This 4-block stretch along SW 22nd Street is a popular shopping area accented by lush fountains and flowers. Small boutiques and major department stores are located here. From the Deauville, its about a half-hour trip (21.5 miles).

The beach is a huge draw at the Deauville, which offers a 700-foot-long stretch of white-sand beach along the Atlantic Ocean. Non-motorized water toys are available, along with pool and beach volleyball. An outdoor rectangular pool and spa tub overlooks the ocean.

The indoor promenade, located on the lower level of the hotel, includes the Health Spa & Salon, which provides massage, sauna, stream room, manicure, and pedicure.

Other shops include a flower shop, jewelry boutique, gift shop, travel agency, barbershop, arcade, game room, and a fully-equipped business center with high-speed Internet access (fee).

The 500 guestrooms in the 17-story, oceanfront Deauville—built in 1957 and totally renovated in 1998—vary slightly in size and view. Many include private balconies with a city/bay or ocean view.
