Just around the bend in the road north of Pismo Beach lies the city of Shell Beach, one of the most scenic spots you'll ever find. Rugged cliffs, rocks jutting out of the water, crevice-filled rocks with sand crabs and a sandy beach nestled between rock formations make for an afternoon or day adventure.
The main attraction in this little town are the vistas of the Pacific Ocean. Drive down to Ocean Boulevard where parking and a set of stairs provide access to the sandy beach below. There's a perfect lookout gazebo in a very small Margo Dodd park. Take a picnic basket and enjoy breathtaking sunset views.
Bring
a fishing pole...fishermen love to cast lines from the stretch of cliffs at this location which provides several benches for
sitting and waiting for a bite on the line. Also popular in Shell Beach is kayaking. Sports enthusiasts carry their boats
down the the 100 or so steps to launch off from the beach.
