Panguitch is a mid-size town in a valley between the Markagunt and Pausaugunt Plateaus. It has lots of motels, a few private campgrounds, several dining establishments and most other services a traveler might need. Panguitch serves as a good base from which to visit Bryce Canyon National Park (24 miles southeast) as well as the Markagunt Plateau (15 miles southwest).
